Rich Martin, Esq.
Way back in 1975, Mr. Martin was a freshman on his high school’s cross country team. One of the first meets Mr. Martin ran at was at a school in Anaheim, Loara High School. As he sat stretching under a huge tree in a far corner of the field at Loara, little did he know that over 40 years later he would find himself teaching science at that very school. Mr. Martin’s journey to Loara took many interesting twists and turns. Mr. Martin attended UCLA where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. As a member of the UCLA Marching Band, Mr. Martin performed in three Rose Bowls, the Fiesta Bowl, and the Opening Ceremonies of the 1984 Olympics. After graduating from UCLA, Mr. Martin continued his education at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles where he earned a Juris Doctorate degree. Mr. Martin then embarked on a twenty year career as a civil trial attorney. During his career as a lawyer, Mr. Martin had the opportunity to teach several courses at a local law school. The first day in class he knew that teaching would be his focus some day. When the opportunity came up, Mr. Martin returned to school at Concordia University in Irvine where he earned a teaching credential. Soon thereafter, Mr. arrived back at Loara as a science teacher. Mr. Martin teaches AP Environmental Science and AVID. Mr. Martin finds every day at Loara to be a great adventure with endless opportunities to help Loara students pursue their dreams for the future. What could be better than that! Mr. Martin often looks at that big tree he sat under so long ago and marvels at the journey that happily brought him back to Loara.
